How can design thinking be used to create a more effective means of mentoring students pursuing professional fields in the Arts?
I sent this question out to 4 non-design people and 3 people were unclear what Design Thinking is. After giving the chance to talk things out a bit and offering a mere understanding of what Design Thinking is, the response was better.
The question was thought of as “teaching students how to think the way they’re supposed to in their profession”.
One person in particular who does not have a design background, but he is a Master Carpenter and very good at mat, and problem solving, he was able to understand the question more in depth. His response was about incorporating real-world requirements as part of the design.
I was shocked how close this was to the goal I have in mind.
